Christmas Shopping - Sony Store

Jim didn't seem to have luck with the Sony Store.
Not this year either.

The thing is Sony Store has its own culture and it's pretty much requires some faith to shop there. i.e. unquestioning faith

Salesmen just say whatever they want: I cannot recollect whether they are intentionally cheating or they simply tell me what they think is right. Bottom line: not very logical or reasonable.

Jim finds it difficult to work with this arrogant young man, G, who is (un)fortunately ignorant as well. It seems that G does not know what PS3 packages Sony Store carries and what are the different features on each of them, not to say the price of each. All G says all the time is: PS3 is selling at cost, Sony Reader is selling at cost, Sony computers are selling at cost... Now Jim is confused: how this Sony Store or the bigger Sony Corp operates if most of their products are selling at cost!

And then, there is this Buy $50 gift certificate and get a $50 in-store coupon promotion. The attractive poster says: see associate for details. The truth is: you get a different story talking to a different salesperson. I wonder why it cannot have a formal rules and instructions on how this promotion works printed somewhere (like the Sony style site)! The fine print on the coupon is brief but the explanation form the salesmen Jim talks to are creative, almost like they are pulling the facts out from the air (or vacuum).

Not only G, but the other person who plays the good guy also talks unreasonable. Maybe there are really no rules, they just make it up and they pretend they are well organized.

Loads of crap. I'm not buying from the Sony Store again if I have a choice. Jim says.
