Restore ape archive
Locate your rar file. Extract it to a folder. (Extract now)
You will find your ape file and a cue list. (non-standard cue list could not be read by most software including Nero)
VLC player can player from this cue sheet.
Drag and drop the ape file to Monkey's Audio (4.10), hit decompress. A wav file will be created from the ape file.
Go into the cue file. Rename the ape file name to wave. Since the software in the next step does not support unicode, make sure the file name match with the file is not in unicode. Also make sure the cue file is not saved in unicode. (the few extra bytes in a unicode file makes the software thinks it's not a compatible format)
I renamed the wav file to 1.wav and updated the FILE in the cue file to 1.wav for easy reference.
Open Exact Audio Copy. Under Tools, pick Split WAV by CUE sheet\ with Gaps. Select the wav file, then the cue sheet.
The big wav file will be split to individual wav files in chapters.
To burn the files to a CD, open Nero.
Drag and drop the wav files to a audio project. Remember to rearrange the file by track no. or artist name which in this case should start with track no. as well.
Burn and done.
