Sex and the City 2
O, I finally watched SATC 2 and I am qualified to do a film review now! How can we say it's a bad movie without even watching it? Just by hearsay doesn't make a good or fair review and is sure bad journalism. (Well, doesn't mean it's not common.)
What I hate about this movie:
- Carrie Preston - Oh how I hate this character! Childish, shallow, unreasonable, unsympathetic, selfish, careless, clumsy, pretentious, .. this list goes on and on. The general term is: B*$%^
- Fashion victim - it's way overdoing it that it's not funny. Just because they are designer garments do not make them beautiful. Just by changing into more dresses does not make it a movie about fashionable characters. Maybe it's all just about product placement. Flashy, that's all it is.
- Aging - there's nothing wrong with getting old. there's nothing wrong about making a movie about sex in the senior home. I was just shocked seeing how aged these girls looked.
- The city this time is Abu Dhabi? And sex? What sex!?
- Miranda became a redundant this time. Her role was to act like a furniture this time and she fitted in well.
All in all , this is an extended episode. The plot line may come from a regular TV episode (25 min), the rest are fillers (120 min) and advertisements. I used to like this show. I bought the dvds to avoid the advertisements. It's was about a group of younger female characters longing and looking for love in New York. It's funny, sad, close to life, sometimes outrageous, but always good drama. Characters I could relate and feel sympathetic for.
SATC2 is about what? Revenge? The millionaire actresses came back with a bad story and made more money? Some people called this a chick-flick. This was unfair. SATC2 claimed to be made for women, it's not because it's a chick-flick it's bad. It was simply a bad movie.
Please let the show rest in peace. Amen.
