INK LEVEL RESET FOR HP PRINTER CARTRIDGES Some HP printers can identify the last two cartridges that have been in the printer. Therefore it will not recognize a refilled cartridge as not being full when it is put in the printer. Since these printers can only recognize the last two cartridges installed, place and remove two sets of cartridges (new or used) one set after the other in the printer. Now the refilled cartridges will be the third set of cartridges and will not be remembered by the printer. If you don`t have two other cartridges, reset the printer`s memory as follows;
* Turn on printer, then open the cover to remove the cartridge.
* Place the cartridges so metal contacts are facing towards you.
* Place adhesive tape on four upper contact points on far left contact column of the cartridge.
* Re-insert the cartridge, then close cover. A cartridge problem may be noted.
* Open cover after 2-3 seconds.
* Remove the cartridge and place in front of you as before.
* Remove adhesive tape.
* Now cover the four upper contacts on the far right column of the cartridge.
* Re-insert the cartridge, then close cover. A cartridge problem may be noted.
* Open cover after 2-3 seconds.
* Remove the adhesive tape
* Reinstall cartridge and voila!
