Thirteenth Tale

Every closet has a skeleton and every family has some dark history.

Thirteen Tale was a great mystery. It's spooky at times. Every turn around the corner made it possibly a ghost story. Instead it's a tightly weaved mystery tale.

I could smell the musty old house. I was in that room listening to Ms. Winter's life story.

The book was well written, it's almost literature. Well, the main character Margaret, was a book lover and she's into classic books. As the story was told by Margaret, it's natural to have it written in good English.

Like it or not, family had a big impact on in our lives and who we were. We didn't have much choice on our family though. Maybe the only thing we had some influence were ourselves.

Kite Runner

Kite Runner was an exceptionally absorbing read. The plot was so rich and the characters so vivid I found it hard to put it down once started. Betrayal and redemption always made efficient story telling. Love and lost, guilt and pain, these elements created the chemistry of the story and hence turned the fate of lives.

In some sense, life was not created equal. Why on earth did some people suffer more than others? Did god listen to the ones who prayed? Tragedies happened to the family, and history repeated. Was it fate or was the author cursing the slaves?

It was really hard to forgive. Sometimes I imagined if I would learn to forgive without being bad before .. because I wished to be forgiven somehow ..
